Yaolan Luo is an artist and creative researcher.

She grew up in an artistic environment. She studied her bachelor degree at Sun Yat-sen University, China and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, UK. The artist received her master degree from Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. She focuses on interdisciplinary research, exploring how to intersect contemporary politics, technology, and social contexts to inspire innovative thinking.

Luo skillfully utilizes poetry to create a hidden network between images, words, and media, where translation and fragmentation occur, and concrete information content is submerged in the labyrinth she constructs. Her abstract paintings blend the technicality of design disciplines with a visual sense of sci-fi-inspired chaos, encompassing everything while leading to the void. She develops individual expressions in her recent works, particularly addressing the conflicts between intelligent technology and the symbiosis of human consciousness and emotions. Using technological control as a starting point and through the art medium, she assembles truths and explores the endless symbolic meanings. Her works span various mediums, including painting, books, text, installations, images, and large-scale exhibition planning. They have been collected in museums, art foundations, corporations, and private collections.

In 2016-2017, she received the Young Talent Award from the Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industry in the Netherlands. In 2020-2021, she received residency support from the Swatch Art Peace Hotel and the Powerlong International Residency Program. She was also selected for the Guangdong Museum of Art's Young Curators Support Program. Recent exhibitions and events: "The Warmth of Things" (Solo Public Art Installation, Foshan, 2023), "NO END OF" (Solo Exhibition, Duende Art Museum, 2021), "Cosmic (in)Significant" (Solo Exhibition, H27 Gallery, Shanghai, 2020), "Extended Views: From Dusk till Dawn" (Curator/Producer, K11 chi Art Space, Guangzhou, 2019), "In No Particular Order" (Group Exhibition, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven, the Netherlands, 2017), and "Thing Nothing"' (Group Exhibition, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven, the Netherlands, 2015).
