Yaolan Violet Luo is an artist, curator and researcher focusing on interdisciplinary studies that explore the intersection of technology and social contexts to inspire innovative production. She skillfully uses poetry to create a hidden network of images, words, and media, where translation and fragmentation take place, and concrete information is submerged within the labyrinth she constructs.

Her abstract paintings blend the technical aspects of design disciplines with a visual sense of sci-fi-inspired chaos, encompassing everything while leading to nihilism. In her recent works, Luo explores individual expressions that specifically address the conflicts between artificial intelligence (AI) and the symbiotic relationship within human consciousness, related to the philosophy of creativity. Starting with technological control and using artistic mediums, she assembles truths and explores endless symbolic meanings. Her work spans various mediums, including painting, books, text, installations, images, and large-scale exhibition planning. Museums, art foundations, corporations, and private collectors have collected her artworks.

Luo grew up in Canton region, China. She earned her bachelor's degree from Sun Yat-sen University in China and the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in the UK. She received her master's degrees from the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands and The University of Hong Kong (HKU). In 2016-2017, she was honored with the Young Talent Award from the Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industry in the Netherlands. From 2020 to 2021, she received residency support from the Swatch Art Peace Hotel and the Powerlong International Residency Program in Shanghai, and she was selected for the Young Curators Support Program at the Guangdong Museum of Art.
