Yaolan Luo is an artist, curator and researcher. She focuses on interdisciplinary research, exploring how contemporary politics, technology, and social contexts intersect to facilitate innovative production.

Luo skillfully utilizes poetry to create a hidden network among images, words, and media, where translation and fragmentation occur, and concrete information content is submerged in the labyrinth she constructs. Her abstract paintings blend the technicality of design disciplines with a visual sense of sci-fi-inspired chaos, encompassing everything while leading to nothingness. She develops individual expressions in her recent works, particularly addressing the conflicts between intelligent technology and the symbiosis of human consciousness and emotions. Using technological control as a starting point and through the art medium, she assembles truths and explores the endless symbolic meanings. Her works explore various mediums, including painting, books, text, installations, images, and large-scale exhibition planning. They have been collected in museums, art foundations, corporations, and private domains.

The creator grew up within an artistic environment in southern China. She studied for her bachelor's degree at Sun Yat-sen University, China, and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, UK. The artist received her master's degree from Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. In 2016-2017, Luo received the Young Talent Award from the Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industry in the Netherlands. From 2020 to 2021, she received residency support from the Swatch Art Peace Hotel and the Powerlong International Residency Program in Shanghai. She was also selected for the Guangdong Museum of Art's Young Curators Support Program.
